All Art Literary meeting:
Tues Nov. 10, 2009 at Reading Room in Evergreen Mall at 7:30 pm.

Help plan the Art Show 2010 and Sooke Studio Tour. All artists, authors and photographers welcome- this is an informal get together to plan events for next year, exchange ideas and talk about what is needed to keep the art scene vibrant for amateurs and professionals. Meet with others, find out about what our members are doing: cooking & photography classes, studio evenings, writing groups! Sign up for the "Foto Foray" to French Beach where you can exchange digital photo tips, or a cooking class to discover how to search out and cook mushrooms.

Nov 20-22 at the Craft Show at Sooke Community Hall - downstairs the members will be talking about their art, and some will be selling their work upstairs. Come and find out more about the All Art Literary Society and see if you want to become a member.

The 2009 show was non-juried and was geared towards artists and authors who wanted to sell original art, books and/or prints. No commission was taken for hung entries. Will this be the case for 2010?

Should the next show be juried? Should it include jewelry and fibre arts? Is there room for 3D arts? This is but a few of the questions that have to be answered if the show is to grow and prosper.

Are there enough volunteers and motivated participants to see the show survive? Funding for 2010 will be very hard to come by, thus the event will have to rely on sponsors and donations by the artists and the public. Some artists, photographers and authors sold very well, others did not do well. Why is this? The event was well attended with approx 800 guests. Were they expecting a "fine art" or a "craft" event?

Anyway, come out and see what your fellow artists and authors have to say- see you Tues at 7 pm at Kathy's "Reading Room".

a special thanks to our sponsors:
